Morning Conversations

It was more than the cool mist giving me goose bumps now.
It was abrupt, unexpected,
An interruption in the middle of my sentence.
And yet your eyes held such gentleness,
Soft, tender – you looked at me as if
you wanted to take care of me for the rest of forever.

What a Broken Heart Really Feels Like

My knees felt like they might buckle beneath me. I couldn’t run from the truth any longer: he had given everything he had. He had made me his all; I was his girl. And in true form, I was a grenade that self-detonated. And he was a casualty that fell among the wreckage.

Remember Me

Do not forget the love that we shared.
Do not forget how you
shaped my heart and healed my wounds.
I shall not forget how you filled
my empty life with such living,
If you promise not to forget
the scent of my perfume on your pillow.

When Love Isn’t Enough

To be honest, future love can never compete with present love – because when we are presently in love, we refuse to believe that life (or any love thereafter) could be any better than the person whose hand we are holding at this very moment.

We were strangers,
blurry passengers of the night.
We craved the sea,
but were tied to the city.
We drifted in an ocean of cement,
Never knowing my eyes were made for you.
