Snow

Snow
The rain traced its way down the windowpane,
Leaving the faintest droplets in its stead.
But as beautiful as the rain was,
She wished for snow.

He hugged her tightly in an endless embrace,
One filled with such inviting warmth.
But as comforting as his arms were,
She longed for his lips.

She watched the lightning illuminate the night sky,
An infinite flow of electricity trailing beneath the Earth.
But as explosive as those branches were,
She yearned for the rumble of thunder.

She found someone new, someone stable; reliable,
An incredible boy that could one day be a wonderful man.
But amidst all of the wonder and awe,
She craved the spark of days past.

The rhythm of the radio belted out a captivating tune,
One that was unfamiliar, yet easily memorable.
But despite the simplicity of the lyrics,
She missed the slowness of one song that held her favorite dance.

The memory of warm blankets and hazy windows,
Courses through her veins as strongly as her blood flows.
But tonight as the rain pours into puddles,
She wishes for snow.
