Breakfast in Bed

Coffee Beans

I quite like the smell of your bed sheets,
pairs of toes and fingers laced in silk.
Hazel crystals of playful tenderness,
they sweep me up into a mouthful of whispers.

A hallway filled with tiptoes and draping light,
with your voice, coated in velvet and honey.
Naked skin remains untouched and
static at the promise of your return.

With streams of milk and hazelnut,
getting lost in tangled roots of coffee bean hair.
I stretch, my legs painted with the reddening sun,
I quite like breaking the dawn with you.
