Phoenix Rising: Release Date

Screen Shot 2015-11-24 at 9.46.02 AMAs many of you probably already know, writing has always been a passion of mine. To share my own experiences and stories, find others that can relate, and build friendships that span seas and cities, it is a wonderful thing. This past year, I signed with Creative Genius Publishing to work on releasing my first book. I spent the summer editing, developing a website, and rereading my manuscript countless times, so much so that the words took on a whole new meaning for me. I am thrilled and ever so appreciative of all of the support I have been given, from family, friends, and this community here on WordPress. Words will never be enough to express how grateful I am. I am also incredibly excited to announce that Phoenix Rising: Onward and Upward will be available in bookstores, through Amazon, and through my website come December 1, 2015. I will share the URLs once they are live, but to give you a brief synopsis of what I’ve essentially put my heart and soul into:

Hope is never too far away in writer Samantha Prasad’s inspirational debut collection, Phoenix Rising.

Inspired by her childhood struggles and eventual determination to never let the past define her, this raw compilation of fifty poems echoes the cyclical nature of the book’s namesake—a mythical bird whose life, death, and rebirth ultimately represent a promise of something bigger and better.

As the book goes on, the poems’ themes transform from dark to light, despair to hope, struggle to triumph. This natural movement demonstrates one’s ability to overcome obstacles and escape the past, not just as a survivor, but as a better individual.

Additionally, the collection’s themes touch upon those ideas that often lie closest to the heart, including love, insatiable wanderlust, and personal growth. Readers will be left with plenty to think about as they unpack Prasad’s many allusions to science, space, astrology, and Greek mythology.

Thank you again to each and every one of you that has helped me in reaching something that for a time, I never thought would be a reality. It is a bit surreal, in a way. I received the final proof in the mail a few days ago, and I traced my finger around my name, and I just could not believe it. I could, and I couldn’t. I am not at all sure if that makes sense. But what can I say? I am all ‘thank you’s’. And I cannot wait to share this with all of you.

With an abundance of love and gratitude,
Sam
